PAC Synchronization Default Settings

Their are three categorized settings available on the PAC Synchronization dialog, and there are two general settings.

  • Timing Options - Select when to display selections items in the PAC.
  • Match / Merge - Chose whether to add questionable record matches to the database.
  • Authority Control - Chose whether to perform Authority Control, or to create Authority Records for invalid headings.
  • Retain order information (945 fields) in MARC records.
  • Allow Holds? (if applicable)

To View or Change PAC Synchronization Default Settings:

  1. Click the Admin link. The Administration menu will display.
  2. Under Integration / MARC Preferences click the PAC Synchronization Defaults link. The PAC Synchronization Defaults dialog will display.( Figure 60h )
  3. To make changes in the titled sections, click the appropriate option buttons in the desired categories.
  4. To select, or un-select, the two general settings, click the check box to the left of the description. When a check mark is displayed the setting is enabled.
  5. When you are finished making changes, click the Save button.
  6. A message will appear advising The PAC Synchronization Defaults have been saved. Click OK.
